Type Designers Club Lifetime Achievement medal
Mission Accomplished: Mike Parker received his Lifetime Achievement Award on April 6, 2011 from the Type Designers Club. He was paid tribute by Many of the "Greats" in the designer field. David Berlow ♥ Cyrus Highsmith♥ Roger Black♥ Matthew Carter ♥ Tobias Frere-Jones ♥ Carol Wahler ♥. Mike was able to remember an especially long account, with details and humor, of how he got Matthew Carter to join Linotype and come to America . The place was packed and so was the party at Roger' swank digs afterward. I slept for 20 hours when I finally got him back to Portland!
I took the Medal and the certificate to Kennedy Framers. In about ten days, we will have a wonderful display for this award. I will post it when it is completed.
